The golden rules to Networking with Karren Brady

Avon have appointed Karren Brady as the new Avon mentor for Avon Women in the UK.  I was asked to speak alongside Karren at an event for Bloggers to hear our views and top tips for Networking and how to get the most out of meeting other people.

Avon cosmetics have long been a networking business.  It has only really came to the forefront of some Avon Representatives and Avon Sales Leaders minds to really push their levels of networking to grow their business.

On the 22nd June 2011 Avon UK invited several UK Bloggers to the Event of 'The Golden Rules to Networking with Karren Brady'.

It was a huge success for the UK Bloggers and Avon Networkers in the room.  With 7 Top Avon Representatives and Avon Sales Leaders at the event including Karren Brady this networking event was a great success.

Karren brady gave us her Top 3 Tips to networking and I also (Gail Reynolds) presented to the UK Bloggers. It was such an honour to have Karren  introduce me as the next speaker and I was thrilled to be able to share what I had learned in business as a Network Marketing Avon lady since 2002.  Sharing my Top Tips on how I have built my networking business with fellow Avon entrepreneurs and the Bloggers in the room was really exciting , especially knowing that Karren was listening in too!

I have put together some simple ideas as to what I think Attraction marketing is all about.

Have a little read and tell my your thoughts on the subject....

Think like a leader - not a salesperson
Attract buyers and sellers by making their shopping experience pleasurable. Begin with identifying what are their frustrations associated with buying and selling are. Then share with them your knowledge of the industry to alleviate those pains. Advise them how to select the best services, educate them how to behave in various situation....

Your aim should be to solve your prospects problems. The key word here is "lead" - not "sell". Basically, you want to take them by the hand and lead them through the process.

You need to make it interesting, engaging, and unpredictable. You need to offer support in the areas less obvious than that traditional stuff everyone else in real estate does.

It is not about being handsome although it helps to have a good hair cut and tastefully selected clothes. On the Internet, an attractively designed web site and carefully formatted e-mail go a long way.

Becoming a magnet for buyers and sellers is easier than you think when you take the £££ sign off your forehead and start truly focusing on the people you serve.

How it works

It works by providing valuable content for future customers to figure out how your product is going to benefit them before they buy it so that they are qualified customers before they step in the door.

Who is using

Most successful multi-level marketers use this concept, to grow their businesses and help their associates to do the same. This is not a new concept but is the new way of thinking in advertising and marketing. Advertisers and marketers have been using this for years because they were the only ones who had the capital for this concept with commercials and newspaper ads. Now with the birth of the Internet anyone can do the same thing and attract their niche market of customers using several unique tools, free online.

Companies using the method include: Amway, Buzzwe, Avon, YesUCan.biz,URFranchise, and ACN.

Rationale

Would you rather chase after customers one at a time or have five or ten customers a day travel to you? This is the mindset of an attraction marketer. They are acquiring customers after enlightening them with valuable information about the product or service they are providing. Each individual has their own way of producing results using this method as there are many to choose from.

Attraction marketing involves the use of specific marketing techniques. These techniques have been designed to teach customers about you and your product, prior to their actual purchase. Some people know attraction marketing as reverse marketing. In essence, you are given the unique opportunity to market yourself first and your company/product later.

Attraction Marketing is a revolutionary approach to marketing yourself. Literally thousands of people are using Attraction Marketing to remove the significant marketing and advertising costs from their expense lists. There are a few basic steps to follow, if you wish to utilize these techniques.

  • Creating a blog, or use an existing one, to introduce yourself to the masses
  • Write several articles that describe you and your product, as well as your knowledge and experience of it.
  • Apply the methods of social networking, through a connection like Twitter, Facebook, or YouTube, to allow an entirely new group of customer's access to your product.

Your Blog

A blog, particularly if it's one that is not solely related to your product, is a good place to meet others. If you casually mention that your product has enhanced the quality of your life or business, you will surely have interested parties making contact with you soon. It is important to subtly direct people to your website. Attraction Marketing is based on new ideas of sales techniques, specifically of getting people to know you first and your product later. This is done by the relatively simple process of branding yourself.

Branding Yourself

Writing numerous articles of value about you and how you're marketing yourself and your product, is a good way to educate others about your offer. This is a very inexpensive tip for Attraction Marketing. Studies have proven that more people are willing to buy products, if they don't feel they are being marketed to. Personalizing your sales techniques, and allowing others to become familiar with you, is an innovative way to attract interest in your product. Wouldn't you rather purchase items from someone you trust, as opposed to getting them from an anonymous big company?

Socializing to Market

Social networking is a new way to meet new customers. Many people use these networks daily, and are likely to click on something there that interests them. Getting some-one's attention is a vital step to branding yourself. Attraction Marketing is a new way to attract customers, without them being aware of it. It's just another example of how you are able to market, and brand yourself.

Marketing is not what it used to be. Very few people like high pressure sales, regardless of which end they are on. Attraction marketing is a proven, simple way of doing what high pressure sales tried and failed to do for years.

So, for what its worth, that is my take on Attraction Marketing.  Feel free to give your comments and help get the word out there that attraction marketing is the place to be building your business online and off line.

‘Andy Whale is a Dorchester based photographer who owns Seven Springs Studios http://www.sevenspringsstudios.com/

He has been a photographer for 25 years and spent most of his working life in London with his own successful studio in the Old Street area.

He set up Seven Springs three years ago and regularly does fashion makeover shoots and business portraits.

His experience working with actors and dancers the Royal Ballet and Royal Opera have given him a great insight on how to get the best from people during a portrait session.’

Avon have set up a Blogging Event with Karren Brady. The event is Closed to an Exclusive handful of Avon Representatives and Sales leaders to chat openly with Karren herself about how "Online networking has helped Avon ladies (and a few good men) grow their business's". 

The online phenomenon has gripped Karrens attention and being part of the mentoring of the women in and amongst the Global Giant Avon Cosmetics she has opened up the forum in this private discussion.

Also attending will be 20 TOP Bloggers from the UK to listen in and give advise. 

Gail Reynolds will be presenting on the day too with her personal take on how "Online networking, blogging and social networking" have helped grow her Avon Business in the past 2 years.

Karren Brady has joined Avon to mentor their female sales representatives.

The Apprentice star and vice-chairperson of West Ham United FC has taken on the role in order to motivate the self-employed women.

She told Sky News: "One of the key messages for all women is that you don't have to have an ambition to run a global bank and you don't have to be at home just running a family.

"There is a combination between the two things, there are other opportunities out there to find that combination."

Avon's UK president Anna Segatti said: "As an extremely successful businesswoman and mother, Karren is an inspirational figure for women and a fantastic ambassador for the financial empowerment that Avon offers them."

What can I win?At the end of Campaign 9 2011 the Top 50 Sales Leaders in each league will be eligible to receive a free place at the Live Your Dream event at the Celtic Manor Resort in August 2011*.Remember you need to have booked and paid for your place at the event by 1st June 2011 in order to be able to receive the above.

How does it work?

Every Independent Avon Sales Leader has been placed into one of four leagues based on their SLLOA (Sales Leader Length of Association) as at Campaign 5 2011 (Trendsetter Campaign 7 2011): SLLOA6 or more - Sales Leaders have been placed into three leagues using a random number generator to ensure impartiality. The leagues are called Commitment, Motivation and Engagement.

The fourth league, called Inspiration, is made up of those Sales Leaders with SLLOA5 or less. All Sales Leaders appointed during the incentive will join League 4, Inspiration.

Details of the four leagues have been placed on the Sales Leader website (My News section, Rewards and Incentives).

All names will be placed in first name alphabetical order until the first results are available. Check out the league you’ve been allocated by

Wednesday 30th March 2011. When the first results are available at the end of Campaign 6 2011(Trendsetter Campaign 8 2011) each list will ONLY show the top 250 Sales Leaders in each league. The league lists will be updated every campaign

How do I score points?

You can score points by doing what you do already!Simply concentrate on the activities below that build your business and increase your earnings.

Points can be earned (or deducted) every campaign from Campaign 6 2011 - Campaign 9 2011 inclusive (Trendsetter Campaign 8 2011 - Campaign 11 2011).
